The RISS Project developed by GRI TOWERS GALICIA, DALP INGENIERÍA Y AUTOMATIZACIÓN and TECFILTER, receives a grant awarded by the Galician Innovation Agency of the Xunta de Galicia and co-financed by the European Union
The RISS project (New route for the manufacture of intelligent, safe and sustainable wind superstructures), developed in collaboration between the Galician companies GRI TOWERS GALICIA, DALP INGENIERÍA Y AUTOMATIZACIÓN and TECFILTER, has been awarded a grant, within the framework of the 2023 call for grants for the Smart and Sustainable Factory initiative, aimed at industrial research, experimental development and innovation projects focused on innovative industrial technologies to support companies in their industrial transition, in line with European priorities on digitisation and the green pact.
This project aims to develop new disruptive solutions for a new smart, sustainable and safe manufacturing route for onshore and offshore wind superstructures to serve as a global wind industry reference in the next decade for the new generation of wind towers.
The main advance of the project is to achieve a complete industrial transformation of the sector, aimed at new sustainable models of surface treatments and welding, smart industrial safety solutions with emerging technologies such as AI, Artificial Vision or Ultrawideband, as well as the development of digital platforms that integrate the enabling technologies of Industry 4.0 that allow the complete hybridisation of the physical world with the digital world, both in product and process, thus achieving a greater capacity for resilience that allows the adaptations of the wind industry to the changing energy market.
The RISS project is funded by the Galician Innovation Agency of the Xunta de Galicia and co-funded by the European Union.
